Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !

Today at Maya Luna the sea looks like a big flat mirror… it’s a sunny day, the sky is extremely blue and clear and there are no clouds at all. For the past 2 weeks weather has been like this; beautiful sunrises, gorgeous days and incredible blue skies. Weather predictions are that for the coming weeks we will have more days like this, thanks to the wind coming from the north. “Los Nortes” as they call them here, also bring cold air with them, so it can get a bit chilly in the shadow and in the evening hours. If you plan to visit Costa Maya the next coming weeks, bring a sweater and some long trousers.

Tourists start to come in at Costa Maya and as from December 22nd Maya Luna is completely booked during Christmas and New Year. For our own guests but also for people staying at other hotels at Costa Maya, we will prepare as usual our special Christmas & New Year dinners, as well as on December 24th as on December 25th and of course on december 31st. On January 1st you are welcome to enjoy a delicious soup, very effective against all kind of hangovers, called “Vuelve a la vida” which means “coming back to life”.
All evenings we also will prepare our regular menu and we can make our vegetarian specials for those who don’t eat fish or meat. Reservations are not necessary but recommended.

Our restaurant is as usual open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you plan to come with a group of 6 or more, please give us a call.

For the past month we have been busy painting all the bungalows and the main building. And In front of the hotel we build 2 small palapas for those who look for some shadow while sitting in a beach chair and reading a book.

From a beautiful Mahahual and a tranquil Maya Luna we all wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope to see you soon in our restaurant!

Maya Luna new blog

Hello everybody

I just uploaded a new english version of Maya Lunas website ! A brand new design, albums with lots of photos of our bungalows, our beach & our restaurant. Within the restaurant section a special part with all information people need when arriving with a cruiseship at Costa Maya. And our dog Dinga has her own page now, promoting Maya Luna as a pet-friendly place inviting other dogs to spend a holiday at maya luna and bring their boss...:-)

While designing the new website, I decided to attach a blog to it, in order to be able to provide information that can be relevant for guests who are planning to spend a few days or more at Hotel Maya Luna. That can be as well information on new activities in and around Mahahual, as well as information on the actual developments in Mexico. One of those developments is the drugswar going on at this moment. Lately more and more people are asking if it is still safe to come to Mexico and if we are ok in Mahahual, if it is not dangerous to live here. I will answer those questions in my next blog as honest as I can.
